Arabian Ranches Golf Course formally The Desert Course Dubai is a wonderful championship layout designed around the original desert courses of Arizona. Carved from the desert the course is the first of its kind not to have any water hazards or defined bunkers. Instead it greatly relies on the well contoured fairways and large sandy wastelands with an abundance of hardy indigenous shrubs and bushes, to constitute the hazards. The designer, British Open Champion, Ian Baker-Finch remarks the unique structure of the course allows for links style golf to be employed due to the unbroken rolling contours.
