Finca Cortesin Golf Club opened in 2006 has already made a splash on the Costa del Sol, measuring over 6800 metres it’s considered to be one of the longest golf courses in Europe. Located in Casares, midway between Marbella and Sotogrande the designer Cabell Robinson has produced something very special. Unlike many golf courses on the Costa del Sol, Finca Cortesin is not lined with properties and so golfers can enjoy the natural environment and landscape, one of the courses most attractive features. Large well contoured greens and several teeing areas from different angles on each hole, provides varying options for course set up, depending on weather conditions and the prevailing wind. There are several breath taking driving holes over valleys with beautiful timber bridges, the fairways are wide like so many modern courses, but finding them is a must as you’re likely to have a long approach shot to the green. Bunkers are well shaped and cleverly placed as you would expect, filled with white marble sand there are such a contrasting to the fairways and sea. Finca Cortesin are committed to providing a first class service and the club house is no exception. It also houses the Jack Nicklaus Golf Academy.
