Los Naranjos Golf is a traditional style golf course located in Marbella’s golf valley. The course belongs to a select group of golf courses on the Costa del Sol designed by world famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones and was built at a time when suitable land was still available. A special Trent Jones Sr. trademark are the long “runway” tees that makes it possible to set up the course different from day to day, as well as wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers and water hazards and large, undulated greens, where you are often faced with difficult shots into the greens with trouble never too far away. Los Naranjos golf course a true championship course, with a number of important tournaments, both professional and amateur, been held at Los Naranjos over the years. In 1989 the Spanish PGA Championship was played with Jose Rivero and Severiano Ballesteros tying on 278 strokes. Rivero won the Championship at the first hole of the sudden death play off. Other important championships played at Los Naranjos Golf Course include the European Senior Amateur Championship, the Spanish Junior Championship and the Spanish International Ladies Amateur Championship. Los Naranjos is not only a great golf course, it offers a number of facilities and services unmatched by other golf courses.
