The Mijas Golf Resort is a popular destination with holiday golfers on the Costa del Sol, the resort consists of two beautifully maintained golf courses both of which were designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, the world renowned golf course architect. The Mijas Golf Resort has a unique entrance, an American style wide road swirls through the fairways and greens towards the clubhouse and the reputable Gran Hotel Guadalpin Byblos.
Los Largos Los Lagos was the first of the two golf courses and is the longest. Although the wide fairways and light rough present this course a friendly light, you should be aware of the nine lakes, from which the course gets its name and which easily trap the ball. It is a course with soft movement and large greens. It could be said that the American designer wanted to present a course especially for amateurs, but at the same time, it can present a challenge for the best players.
Los Olivios The main feature of Los Olivios which distinguishes this course from Los Largos golf course is the abundance of trees, hence the name, and its smaller size as well as fewer water hazards. The greens are smaller, undulating and well defended. Although both are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting contrasts between the two courses. If Los Lagos is based on water hazards and sand, Los Olivios is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens. Both course provide unique challenges and are ideal holiday golf courses.
Mijas Golf has a traditional style Andalucian Clubhouse with restaurant, bar and a beautiful vine covered terrace, the atmosphere here is always lively and the food and hospitality second to none.
