Torrequebrada Golf sits 3 km’s inland between Torremolinos and Fuengirola. The par 72, 5806 metre layout was designed by Pepe Gancedo, one of Spain’s most famed golf course architects. Although not a long course by championship standards, it’s a tough test of all department of the game, as you would expect from a course that has previously hosted the Spanish Open. The fairways are among the finest you’ll play from and lined by over 100 species of trees, the course follows the natural contour of the land and although hilly in places the design more than makes up for it, offering some fantastic driving holes from elevated tees as well as stunning views. There are a number of risk and reward dog-leg holes which requires good course strategy and accurate play. Several lakes and many streams bring water into play on nine holes with numerous well placed bunkers and raised greens providing a stiff but fair test of golf. The clubhouse boasts all the facilities you would expect from a course of Torrequebrada’s standing, the restaurant and bar offers a large terrace with views of the course and the Costa del Sol’s coastline.
