The Millennium Golf Course takes its name from the date it was opened and ever since welcoming the first visitors onto the tee it has gained its reputation as a beautiful yet challenging golf course. The course is defined by two different styles. The front nine holes originally belonged to the Laguna golf course which is very much in keeping with the flat links type terrain and incorporates various water hazards, wide fairways and very few trees. The back nine holes are in vast contrast in comparison as they are set among the pinewoods and natural lush countryside. These new additions are the work of Martin Hawtree who also oversaw the remodelling of many holes on the front nine. Oceanico Millennium Golf Course is a challenging golf course in Vilamoura.
