Imagine this, the best Autumn weather the Costa del Sol has to offer, an excellent turn out of happy competitors, eagerly awaiting the chance to compete on the newest course on the coast. Valle Romano Golf Course, the new kid on the block, most definitely lived up to its growing stature, by delivering one of the best La Sala Golf Classic’s yet with not a space to spare.
So, to the golf….. once again the teams arrived back with tales of woe about their lack of golf skills, did you see this and that, but all, bar none were exhilarated, not by their golfing prowess I might say, but by the atmosphere created and amazing views from the Valle Romano Golf Course.
This time it really was a multi international event, including many new additions to the La Sala Golf Classic fanclub, namely a team from the USA who added the competition into their 7 day golfing break. Word from the other teams; they fully expected one of their teams to win, but just like The Ryder Cup, their European counterparts had other ideas.
As usual the prizegiving was in the highly acclaimed La Sala Bar and Grill Restaurant immediately after the event, where once again the hosts spoiled every competitor with their beautifully presented ensemble of quality food, beer and wine. This time the David Marshall trophy and winning prize of meal for 4 at La Sala was won by team Sierra Park Club: John Graham, Alun Jeans, former European Tour Player, Peter Gustaffson and young Richard Zuhlke, who once again hit the longest drive. Come on you guys out there are you going to let Richard win every time??? Now there’s a challenge. The price for nearest the pin went to Mike Cristopher, a La Sala newcomer and part of the Steve’s Strikers team. The runners up, team Kokooyah Grass! their prize; lunch for the whole team at La Sala, not bad for a day’s golf.
The next La Sala Golf Classic will be held at the beautiful La Quinta Golf Club on 17th December for only 60 Euros. Contact us on to make your reservation at your earliest convenience to guarantee your entry.
