VALDERRAMA Golf Club
Club de Golf Valderrama is Spain’s most famed golf course not to mention Europe’s number one. Sotogrande is home to the 6356 meter masterpiece which has held the European Volvo Master for two decades, as well as the World Golf Championships in 1999 and 2000. However Valderrama’s proudest moment came in 1997 when it hosted the 32nd Ryder Cup, cementing it among the world’s greatest golf courses. Designed in 1974 by Robert Trent Jones Senior, one of the most influential golf course architects of the modern age, the par 71 championship course has been remodelled countless times to achieve what many consider to be perfection. The fairways, described by pros and leading golf writers as the best in Europe if not the world, are tightly lined with the indigenous cork oaks that lead to the smallest greens on the Costa del Sol that demand the most accurate of golf shots. Valderrama golf course is the jewel in the crown of golf on the Costa del Sol and playing here will undoubtedly stay with any golfer for many years.

SAN ROQUE OLD
San Roque Golf Club is one of Spain’s most secluded and exclusive golfing resorts. The San Roque Old Golf Course has well and truly established itself as one of the Costa del Sol’s toughest championship courses, having been the home to the European PGA Tour Qualifying School for over a decade. Originally designed by Dave Thomas in 1990, the course’s tight sloping fairways are lined by mature cork oak trees which demand straight accurate driving. Strategic bunker placements and deceptive water hazards threaten all but the most precise approach shots to greens that are fast and heavily contoured, punishing even the slightest misjudgement. Acknowledged for its challenging layout the San Roque old golf course provides a test for the very highest standard of golfer.
