The golf club of Guadalmina is among the oldest on the Costa del Sol and is also home to Guadalmina North Course. The championship South Course was the first of the two and has matured into a wonderful mixture of challenging golf holes and beautiful scenery. Long narrow fairways and small greens are the most distinguishable feature and this provides a stiff test of golf for any player. The 11th hole is perhaps one of the finest Par 3’s in Spain, running along the beachfront with a large bunker being all that separates the tee from a fantastically contoured and elevated green. This hole also provides the perfect backdrop for the Guadalmina Spa & Golf Hotel which sits adjacent. The course has recently undergone some major repair work with all the greens and surrounding bunkers being completely re-sculpted. This work has certainly been successful as this is now one of the finest golf courses on the coast, as indeed it once was.
