La Cala Golf Resort is the Costa del Sol’s biggest golfing complex with three championship golf courses. The America course and Europa course complete the trio. La Cala’s Asia Course, otherwise referred to as the South course, has stood the test of time and has been a favourite with golfers visiting Spain since it opened over 15 years ago.
The original La Cala golf course offers a relatively short test of golf with the premium on accuracy. Both the fairways and small greens are well bunkered and the majority of the tee shots, many of which are quite dramatic leading on to comfortably wide landing areas, are either downhill or level. Approximately half of the approach shots are to elevated well-defended greens. Water is present on only two holes; the reachable par five 14th and the short par four 3rd. The four short holes offer tremendous variety and some require a carryover native scrub land, all of which are easily reachable. La Cala Asia Course is a challenging Fuengirola golf course in Malaga.
