San Roque Golf Club is one of Spain's most secluded and exclusive golfing resorts. The Old Course has well and truly established itself as one of the Costa del Sol’s toughest championship courses, having been the home to the European PGA Tour Qualifying School for over a decade. Originally designed by Dave Thomas in 1990, the course's tight sloping fairways are lined by mature cork oak trees which demand straight accurate driving. Strategic bunker placements and deceptive water hazards threaten all but the most precise approach shots to greens that are fast and heavily contoured, punishing the slightest misjudgement. Acknowledged for its challenging layout the Old Course provides a test for the very highest standard of golfer and will leave a lasting memory especially as the closing holes are blessed with a number of shimmering lakes, presenting a finish as beautiful as it is challenging. San Roque Old Course is a very popular Sotogrande golf course in West Costa del Sol.
