La Cala de Mijas lies on the coast of Spain approximately 25 minutes west of Malaga Airport. In recent years it has become a hotspot for both tourism and property hunters. Although the town is not huge it still has an abundance of restaurants, bars and cafes to accommodate all tastes. Most notably the tapas bars which offer authentic Spanish dishes that are incredibly tasty and very reasonably priced. Most of the restaurants stay open late in the summer months as per Spanish tradition.

La Cala has long been known for its excellent golf courses and has become “golfing country”, La Cala Golf with its 3 championship courses, America, Europa and Asia. It is also considered to be the largest golf resort in Spain and also houses the David Leadbetter golf academy.
Alongside La Cala Golf is Calanova and El Chaparral golf course with its famous “pine tree” lined fairways.
